2009 will be rememebered for plenty of reasons: be it the sheer number of celebrities who died this year ( Brittany Murphy - 20th December, Tony Hart - January 18th, Wendy Richard - February 26th, Jade Goody- March 22nd, Natasha Richardson - March 18th, Michael Jackson-June 25th, Farrah Fawcett-June 25th, Patrick Swayze-September 14, Keith Floyd - September 14, Stephen Gately - October 10 and Maggie Jones on december 2nd)
Or that it was the first year out of five that the X factor Singla hadn't got the christmas number one, proving to the contestants that its not a given. Rage against the machines 1992 (?) single Killing in tha name of reached number one after a massive facebook campaign aiming to knock the smile off of simon cowells smug face.
I, although I was affected by these things will remember 2009 for a number of other reasons.
The start of this year I was in a relationship, but by spending time with someone else, I realised just how much I didn't love the guy I was with. I think I finally gave up trying to force myself to love him in March.
I was supposed to finish college in May, however, regardless of how many times I "was finished" my weener of a tutor found something else that I hadn't done, so i actually finished in like June...
June was the month I turned 18, and my lovely mother organised me a suprise party :D
It was also the month I went to my first music festival with Charley.(Download) It was one of the most amazing and testing weeks of my life. I got so sunburnt that it still hasnt fully recovered :D
In July I went to Blackpool on holiday with Rhiannon, Andrea and Anna. It was Brilliant :D we went to pleasure beach and Rhi had to go to the hospital after falling off of the "Hoss" :D
August saw my first SJA camp as an adult. It was exciting but really weird, going from whatever to having all these rules, but no bedtime which was a plus, and it did feel a bit like being admitted into an inner sanctum!
I got m results for college as well, and they were not as good as i thought they were gonna be, so i had to re-evaluate my plans, which i did :D
And I am so glad i did.
I decided to come to uni this year as opposed to next year. I came to Lincoln, A place I never had even heard of, to study Advertising and Journalism.
The past three/four months have been the best of my life. They have passed in a blur of assignments, nights out, sleeping in, alcohol, meals that arent really meals, making friends and learning new things.
And to top it all off a wonderful New Year which ended at the cathedral with a tiny dusting of snow, holding hands with perhaps the greatest friends ever, humming to auld lang syne, because we didnt know the words :D
I have met so many people this year that even in the short time I have known them have changed my life.
Adrienne Hart: She is a funny hunny :D met her at the Icebreaker night in freshers week, which included the worlds number one tribute act.
Aimee Lloyd: I met her in August at my friends Birthday and I am soooo glad i did. She is an amazing person and a great friend and I miss her so much!!
